It's non been an easy year for graphics cards. While there experience been few truly great GPUs released since the cease of last class, very some of us have got actually been fit to buy them. Well, thither's one last push coming up, with AMD's Navi 23 chips making it into the Radeon RX 6600 XT and RX 6600 cards due to be announced on Revered 11.

That's been the rumour for a piece, and we don't see some reason why that's most to alteration. What we haven't had more than visibility on until now is the pricing, but an unnamed source over on Neowin has an update on that front.

Few weeks ago, there were rumours from music AMD leaker, "Kepler," saying the Radeon RTX 6600 XT would retail for $399. Which we view was a bit on the high side. There was also no word about the not-XT variation at the meter. Just before that, PowerColor in brief listed RX 6600 XT and RX 6600 on its site, but these pages were quickly pulled.

AMD Navi 23 GPUs

GPU Navi 23 XT Navi 23 XL
Stream processors 2048 1792
CUs 32 28
Ray Accelerators 32 28
Memory 8 GB GDDR6 8 U.K. GDDR6
Memory Interface 128-scra 128-bit
Infinity Hoard 32 MB 32 MB
Total Board Power 130 W 130 W
MSRP $349 $299

The Navi 23 on the RX 6600 XT is expected to give 32 CUs, which equates to 2048 watercourse processors and comes with 8GB of GDDR6 using a 128-bit bus. An important consideration for AMD's RDNA 2 GPUs is the local Infinity Memory cache that significantly impacts the performance on offer. Some GPUs will apparently lay title to 32MB of Infinity Cache.

This board is foretold to pop the question performance someplace betwixt the $329 Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 and the $399 RTX 3060 Ti, albeit non in raytracing titles, as Nvidia static has a distinct lead there. This is going away to pee-pee the pricing of the RX 6600 XT absolutely vital. This explains wherefore AMD is apparently suggesting an MSRP of $349—far more edible than the previous rumour of $399 at any value.

The Radeon RX 6600 meanwhile has 28 CUs or 1,792 swarm processors but otherwise matches the specs of its beefier sibling. The same rumours have this card's MSRP at $299, making it the most low-priced option of this generation. The word on the technical school street is that this card won't personify launched at the same time as the Radeon RX 6600 XT, though, but appearing later in the year.

As long as in that location is mint of these GPUs, it could make for a previous but crucial win for AMD's RDNA 2 architecture. Toss in the fact that AMD's RDNA 2 can be found in the Xbox Series S/X, the Playstation 5, and the Steam Grace when that's discharged, and AMD could end the year in a very healthy berth.

IT simply needs to get the silicon onto card game and into buyers' work force at those prices.

Alan has been writing about PC technical school since before 3D graphics cards existed, and still vividly recalls having to fight with Manuscript-DOS fitting to start out games to load. He fondly remembers the killer jazz group of a Matrox Millenium and 3dfx Voodoo, and beholding Lara Croft in 3D for the first clip. He's very happy hardware has precocious as much as information technology has though, and is particularly happy when putting the stylish M.2 NVMe SSDs, AMD processors, and laptops through their paces. He has a long-lived Magic: The Assembly obsession but limits this to MTG Bowl these years.
